Under the direction of the university`s senior officer or designated professor, a professor is responsible for academic management and the development of an effective learning environment for students. A collective agreement is a written contract between an employer and a union that describes many of the terms and conditions of employment of workers in a bargaining unit. There are two collective agreements that cover members of Algonquin College`s bargaining unit. The academic collective agreement includes professors, teachers, part-time employees, counsellors and librarians. The Support Staff Collective Agreement applies to all full-time support staff in Appendix D and Appendix G. The classification of teachers applies to teaching positions where the incumbent`s duties and responsibilities are limited to the portion of all academic activities related to the provision of instruction to groups of students affected by prepared courses and prescribed teaching formats; and limited to instructions to acquire manipulative ability or technique; and under the direction of a teacher. Notwithstanding this provision, the trainer is responsible and has the freedom to provide a learning environment that effectively uses the resources provided or identified, work experience, excursions, etc., and to select the appropriate didactic material from among the courses provided or identified to facilitate the achievement of the educational objectives of the courses assigned to the students. All full-time employees are compensated based on their placement in the following pay grids. All full-time academic staff who have completed full academic service at the university are entitled to two months` leave (43 working days), as defined by the college. If the worker has less than one year on the train, his leave is proportionally proportional. From 23 March, the faculty of sub-charge will see a modification of its pay slip in order to comply with fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act 2017. Partial expense invoices now show the 6% holiday pay as a separate position. The total amount (regular salary + 6% leave) remains the same as the rates currently indicated in the collective agreement for academic staff. If you are a director, please respect the terms and conditions of employment. Part-time positions in the administration are compensated by the “administration” salary scale. There are a number of classifications and subclassifications of part-time remuneration. Each staff classification is unique in terms of salary calculations and benefits. At Algonquin College, our goal is to maintain respectful and positive relationships between the university, management and staff.
